The Ultimate Award and Outstanding Quality Title bestowed on Restaurants in the Maltese Islands.





The following is a list of the outstanding restaurants that have been surveyed by the WRMC Professional Assessment Team throughout 2022, and through a minimum of three further anonymous inspections by the WRMC Professional Consultants appointed for this purpose oer a longer time. Assessments are adjudicated  for the whole and complete dining experience, and all survey teams must agree on the quality of all aspects  before a decision on final selections is made.

Our most important criteria for this award is, that for consideration for a WRMC Silver Spoon Award, the restaurant must have been in operation for a minimum period of at least two full years, under the same operators and the same executive chef. Further to this, evidence that the establishment is based on sound management principles and is financially sustainable is endeavored to be obtained, as the WRMC Silver Spoon Awards are not transferable with change of ownership.

The Silver Spoon Award is not a permanent accolade, as a restaurant can loose it for lack of consistency in the quality of both the cuisine and service or change of operators and concept. But then again, a restaurant can be elevated to the Two Silver Spoons Award through a major enhancement in quality performance. These restaurants have been awarded the highly coveted  WRMC One Silver Spoon Award Certificate and Silver Spoon trophy during the annual WRMC presentation dinner that is held for this purpose in January each year. 

Restaurants are inspected and adjudicated on: Ambience; Atmosphere and decor; Cleanliness; Cuisine Quality; Preparation and Presentation of dishes; Management and Servers efficiency and attitude towards clients; Overall service quality; Wine List and price mark-up; Value for Money, which criteria is targeted to cover the complete dining experience in the selected restaurants from when the inspectors enter the restaurant to the time that they leave.

Awarded for Consistently Outstanding Cuisine Quality, Preoaration, Presentation and value, WORLD CLASS service and Management, and pleasant ambience.[/pullquote_right]


The WRMC Silver Spoon Award

Conferred for continuosly outstanding Cuisine quality, Preparation and Presentation, Service, Management, Value and Ambience at a consistently good value for money in accordance with concept. [/pullquote_right]


  The updated 2023 WRMC One Silver Spoon Restaurants are comprised of the following twenty four (24) restaurants. (10 restaurants have held the title from previous years which is a tribute to their consistency of quality and passion in both cuisine and service with a good value for money. 

Five Restaurants were awarded the Two Silver Spoon Award and title of WRMC Two Silver Spoon Restaurant at the 9th edition which was held on Monday, the 23rd of January, 2023 at the Hilton Malta. 

All of these restaurants have obtained a minimum of 9.0 to 9.5 points out of 10 in the combined and consolidated review results of a minimum of three professional surveys and assessments, and carefully selected from a total of 120 restaurants surveyed and shortlisted during 2021/22, by the WRMC appointed assessors.

The following ten restaurants have retained the One Silver Spoon Award from previous editions of the WRMC Restaurants Quality Recognition Awards. Outstanding Consistency, Sustainability, Passion for service and cuisine quality using the freshest, local and seasonal ingredients whenever possible, and maintaining good value for money commensurate with concept.

Tex Mex South Restaurant – Marsaxlokk.

Ta’ Rozi Restaurant – St. Paul’s Bay.

New Madras Indian Restaurant – Bugibba, St. Paul’s Bay.

Taninu Bistro – Marsascala.

Aaron’s Kitchen – Valletta.

Brookies Restaurant – Victoria, Gozo.

Le Bistro Restaurant – Radisson Blu Resort, St. Julians. 

Only the above restaurants listed in the above 2023 list can describe and advertise themselves as WRMC Silver Spoon Restaurants.

The 2023 Silver Spoon Award and title – New Recipients

The One Silver Spoon Award denotes an outstanding restaurant in its category, based on the above adjudicating criteria, and one which offers cuisine, prepared to a consistently high standard of quality. Based on the geographic size of  Malta, such an establishment, would be worth a special journey to dine at.

Only the 24 restaurants listed above are entitled tp use the title of :

WRMC Silver Spoon Restaurant,

and only the five restaurants so named above can use the title of:

WRMC Two Silver Spoon Restaurant

under their name, in correspondence, advertising, menus, logos and other communications.

Unauthorized use of this title is prohibited and illegal as the award is registered for copyright.
