Family Sunday Lunch at The Tabloid Restaurant, The Palace Hotel, Sliema,  November, 2012.

We have been reviewing the Sunday buffet lunch at The Tabloid, year after year for over three concurrent years, as well as we have been to this place for special occasion lunches, since it opened its doors. It is one of those establishments at which cuisine quality, level of service, freshness of ingredients, attentive preparation and presentation have been exceptionally consistent on a high level throughout. As in previous years, this season’s offerings presented an exciting and enjoyable dining experience, that would invariably delight the most discerning diner.

The Tabloid’s Sunday buffet lunch, initially started off with the lunch and cuisine displays being all set in the actual restaurant section as one enters from the lobby, but due to massive demand in recent years, the table arrangements were set-up at The Tabloid main section as well as in the ante-room extension to the restaurant, with the food stations being set-up in the central ante-room which offered a larger area for more extensive food stations to be set-up, as well as on four additional stations in the main restaurant area.

The cuisine stations for this season’s opulent presentations were set-up on some eleven stations: a large antipasti central station, designed in a U shape long table on which were also accommodated the various main course terrines and carvery; an Asian table with selections of Chinese, Indian, and Japanese cuisine, including Beijing duck and pancakes, as well as selections of Sushi were on offer; a young children’s table; ice-cream, live waffle station, and fruit basket were all situated in the central ante-room. A Mexican station, the soup station, bread basket, Cheese board and a lavish array of desserts were situated in the Tabloid’s main section. It is impossible to name every dish presented, but I’m sure that the following photo illustrations of the actual abundant and sumptuous, cuisine presented for this buffet during our attendance, may give an indication of the fine dining experience.
